2.3 Cleaning of Reclamation Dam

2.3.1 Amphibious Excavator Dredging

• Three off amphibious excavator dredgers (20 ton each) are launched into the dam. The dredgers work in series, i.e the first one digs and pile the sludge up towards the shore for the next dredger until the sludge is finally moved to the shore by the third dredger.

• A normal excavator (20 ton) is placed on shore to load the final sludge into tipper trucks (10 m3) for disposal at the ash dam.
