Just a run through of the Steam Machine and the Steam In-Home Streaming, both currently in beta. I'm running X-COM: Enemy Within on my PC, which is being streamed to the Steam Machine. I'm using the Steam Controller on the Steam Machine.

Just thought I'd do a quick test of Steam's in-home streaming functionality. Performance in this scenario seems to be much better with the host machine connected to the network using an ethernet cable.
Test Game: BioShock Infinite
Host Machine: Gaming Desktop (in another room)
Client Machine: Microsoft Surface Pro (on battery power)
Resolution: 1920x1080
Network Condition: Desktop - wired, Surface - Wi-Fi

Steam In-Home Streaming Beta [Demonstration]
I'm trying out the Steam In-House Streaming functionality in the latest Steam beta. To test it yourself, opt in to the Steam beta (in settings) and start steam on both machines.
In short, it works really well for being a beta!
In this video I'm trying out Bioshock: Infinite, Metro: Last Light and Far Cry 3.
I've had two types of issues;
1. Sometimes a game will constantly lag, but it's resolved by restarting it.
2. Sometimes Steam will complain on the main computer that the game is out of...

Steam In home streaming on Intel GMA 950 based notebook
So, my dad just got a new ultra-book from work and I took his old laptop which was bought back in 2006 (better than just junking it)
Its wifi didn't work either and i cant find the drivers for it :( This notebook is practically useless because its SLOW and its Wifi, DVD drive and main keyboard does not work either. So i decided to use this as a downloading machine. Today it just struck me... why not give a try to Steam In home streaming? and as you can see it handles game streaming pretty well...
